Job summary

Land O'Lakes is seeking a Feed Sales Specialist to promote Purina Animal Nutrition products across dealers, co-ops, and producers in South Carolina and Georgia. The role focuses on building relationships in horse, cattle, family flock, and exotic markets, with travel as needed.

You will partner with customers in SC/GA, manage a mix of base salary plus commissions, and target a 10–20% overnight travel expectation. A Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field.
• 3–5 years in sales or animal nutrition.
• Travel up to 10–20% overnight.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
• Experience with CRM and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Build and grow strong relationships with assigned dealers and co-ops to promote Purina Animal Nutrition products within the market.
• Gain understanding of customer and market needs and communicate how the Purina Animal Nutrition product portfolio addresses those needs.
• Manage a range of sales calls, from routine follow-ups to moderately complex sales situations, with moderate supervision.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with a defined set of accounts or territories.
• Understand and help manage current inventory levels at dealers and co-ops, providing accurate product availability updates.
• Serve as an account quarterback at designated accounts when multiple Purina Animal Nutrition staff are involved.
• Address customer needs, recommend solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
