Job summary

Tyson Foods is hiring for an entry-level general labor position at our Georgia mill. The role involves cleaning and maintaining mill areas, grounds maintenance, and assisting with ingredient receiving while upholding safety and Tyson policies. Pay rate is $17.05 per hour.

3rd shift; overtime and weekend work may be required. Responsibilities include sweeping assigned areas, unloading ingredients, cleaning spills, and operating basic equipment to move pallets and clean with high-pressure hoses.

Qualifications

• Entry-level, non-skilled general labor.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and occasionally 100 lbs with assistance.
• Must work in hot, dusty, wet, and cold environments and comply with safety protocols.
• Must be available to work holidays, weekends, and varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain mill operational areas and grounds.
• Assist with unloading ingredients from rail cars and trucks.
• Clean up feed spills and perform ground-keeping duties using mowing/trimming equipment.
• Operate air tools and high-pressure hoses to clean areas.
• Move pallets using PIT and ensure PPE is worn.
• Follow Tyson Health and Safety protocols and biosecurity guidelines.

Job Details: This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled general labor. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining operational areas of the mill, upkeep of the grounds and landscaping around the mill, and assist with ingredients receiving when needed while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Pay Rate = $17.05/Hr.

• Ability to Sweep and clean assigned areas of the mill and sign off when completed
• Help and assist with ingredients unloading activities like unloading of rail car/trucks
• Ability to clean up feed spills
• Ability to perform ground keeping duties including using landscaping equitment such as mowers and trimmers.
• Ability to use and maintain air driver equitment like blow guns to assist in cleaning activities
• Ability to use high pressure water hoses to wash down and clean areas of the feed mill
• Ability to use PIT to move pallets of ingredients
• Must wear required PPE ear protection
• Able to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather.
• Ability to work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required based on demand scheduling
• Ability to work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures
• Able to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines including an agreement to avoid any avian species
• Maintain good housekeeping including service areas
• Communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required
• Follow and Operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols
• Able to Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs. with assistance
• Stand, Sit, Walk, Climb Ladder/Stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.
• Complete all other tasks assigned by management.
