Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a candidate for a feed mill operator pathway. The role offers training across all feed manufacturing areas, with certification in each station and exposure to systems like receiving, batching, and load out.

You will build relationships with staff and management while developing leadership skills and environmental compliance awareness. Requires a bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in related fields.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Feed Manufacturing, Nutritional Sciences, or related field.
• Currently enrolled college student with anticipated graduation.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Learns, demonstrates capability/knowledge, and becomes certified in all feed manufacturing department areas.
• Gains understanding of company systems such as receiving, batching and load out.
• Performs hourly jobs under supervision and becomes certified in each.
• Develops rapport/relationships with personnel and management.
• Maintains forklift license, weigh master, and grain grading certifications.
• Reads and understands environmental policies and report issues.
