Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Missouri seeks a dedicated individual to join our feed mill team, starting at 5am with 4x12-hour shifts, including some night and weekend work. You will learn, become certified in all feed manufacturing areas, and assist with reporting and efficiency improvements.

Requires a bachelor\'s degree in feed manufacturing, nutritional sciences, or related field, plus strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in Feed Manufacturing, Nutritional Sciences, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Able to work as a team player.
• Computer skills.
• Valid driver\'s license and acceptable MVR.
• Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Learns, demonstrates capability/knowledge, and becomes certified in all feed manufacturing department areas including fulfilling all the requirements and responsibilities listed under the Feed Mill Operator job description.
• Gains a solid understanding of and ability to implement company systems such as receiving, batching and load out etc.
• Performs and masters all hourly jobs under supervision. Becomes certified in each job after showing competence and skill/understanding in each.
• Develops and establishes rapport/relationships with all personnel and management.
• Develops employee management skills.
• Gains experience in leadership process and challenges.
• Develops and prepares required reports on experiences encountered and addresses/shares opportunities for improvement.
• Maintains an active license to operate forklift, certified weigh master and grading grain.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as defined by management according to standards.
