Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Feed Mill Operator to tend and oversee all operator areas within the mill, ensuring quality, productivity and safety.

You will perform batching, pellet production, inventory tasks, and operate equipment including forklifts and grinders in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to read English, basic computer skills, and willingness to work up to 50 hours per week including nights, holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Basic computer skills desired.
• Must be able to work an average of 50 hour weeks, including night, holiday and weekend when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment/tools in all areas (computer, grinders, fork lift, etc.).
• Prepare and maintain shift activity and production reports.
• Regulate flow of materials to meet product specifications.
• Perform daily inventory of feed, bulk and micro ingredients.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and support coworkers.
• Report environmental issues and comply with safety policies.
