Smithfield Foods is seeking a Feed Mill Operator in our North Carolina facility to tend, operate, and oversee all milling areas, ensuring quality, productivity and safety.

The role requires working approximately 50 hours per week, including nights and weekends when required, with certifications to maintain. START PAY is $17.75 per hour on a 12-hour shift, offering growth in a global食品 company that values people and the planet.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Must be able to work an average of 50 hour weeks, including night, holiday and weekend when required.
• Must be supportive of the mission of producing high quality pellet feed.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs in all operator areas, including batching and pelleting procedures.
• Operate equipment in all areas (computer, grinders, fork lift, etc.).
• Prepare and maintain shift activity and production reports.
• Regulate flow of materials to meet product specifications.
• Perform daily feed, bulk and micro ingredient inventory.
• Keep designated areas clean and support coworkers.
• Maintain safety of employees and assets.
• Acquire and maintain necessary certifications (weigh master, forklift).
• Maintain stock at batching areas and receiving as needed.
• Comply with environmental laws and IPS/EMS policies.
• Report environmental issues to supervisor.
• Understand emergency notification processes.
• Contribute to ISO22000 Feed Safety and Quality Program.
