Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Coffey, MO seeks a Feed Mill Operator to learn and master all department roles, gaining system knowledge to support production goals.

You will work a 5am start with 4 x 12-hour shifts per week, with possible night shifts and weekends. Responsibilities include gaining certifications, safe operation, and contributing to continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Feed Manufacturing, Nutritional Sciences, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Organizational skills and strong communication abilities.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable MVR; able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Learn, demonstrate capability, and become certified in all feed manufacturing department areas.
• Understand and implement company systems (receiving, batching and load out).
• Perform hourly jobs under supervision and become certified in each.
• Develop relationships with personnel and management and cultivate leadership skills.
• Prepare reports on experiences and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain forklift license, weigh master certification, and grain grading.
• Read and follow environmental policies and report issues to supervisor.
• Work 5am start, 4 x 12-hour shifts; occasional night/weekend shifts.
