Job summary

Wayne Farms is seeking a detail-oriented operator to mix micro ingredients per formulas and stage them orderly. You will maintain cleanliness, assist with equipment maintenance, and perform quality checks on ingredients while ensuring compliance with FSMA and company policies.

The role requires basic math, computer literacy, and reliable, self-motivated work habits, with the ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Mix and route feed according to formulas and schedules using batching and routing equipment.
• Communicate batching schedule with production staff, following FDA, GMP, and QC procedures.
• Complete and maintain logs and documents neatly and accurately.
• Monitor and adjust equipment; perform preventive maintenance and cleaning.
• Report equipment malfunctions and ensure housekeeping is kept clean.
• Comply with all company policies, FSMA regulations, and applicable laws.

Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Primarily responsible for mixing micro ingredients per the specified formulas and staging them in a neat and orderly manner. In addition, will perform housekeeping activities, maintenance and repair of equipment, and quality checks on ingredients. Also responsible for preventing theft or loss of product ensuring trucks leave empty. Responsible for compliance with all company policies, FSMA regulations, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

• Mix and route feed according to formulas, procedures and schedule utilizing batching controller, mixing equipment, routing equipment, destination bins and downstream operations.
• Communicate and coordinate batching schedule and production with appropriate personnel maximizing efficiency while following FDA, GMP and QC procedures.
• Accurately complete and maintain assigned reports, logs and documents in a neat and orderly manner.
• Monitor and adjust equipment accordingly.
• Use proper operating parameters and equipment settings to effectively deliver a high quality product.
• Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Communicate equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
• Perform routine housekeeping ensuring designated areas are kept clean.
• Comply with all company policies, FSMA regulations, and local, state and federal laws, and regulations.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Previous feed mill experience.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
• Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl and bend.
• Frequently climb stairs and 50+ foot ladders.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 - 100 lbs.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Constantly subject to dusty, hot environments.
• Frequently work in loud environment requiring ear protection.
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Ability to work at heights of 200+ ft.
