Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Guntersville, AL is seeking a warehouse associate to unload incoming ingredient trucks, allocate stock to bins, and maximize space utilization based on current inventory.

You will perform housekeeping, maintenance and repair of equipment, conduct quality checks on ingredients, and ensure trucks depart empty while complying with FSMA, FDA, GMP and all laws. This role may require night/weekend shifts and lifting heavy loads.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate auto-receiving system.
• Unload incoming trucks.
• Inspect incoming material and verify quality against receiving documents.
• Collect feed samples per sampling plan.
• Ensure bins and storage areas do not overflow.
• Complete paperwork and reports.
• Rotate stock.
• Coordinate batching schedule and production with others, following FDA, GMP and QC procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Communicate equipment malfunctions.
• Housekeeping and safety compliance.
• Operate forklift as necessary.
• Follow all policies and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

In addition, will perform housekeeping activities, maintenance and repair of equipment, and quality checks on ingredients. Also responsible for preventing theft or loss of product ensuring trucks leave empty. Responsible for compliance with all company policies, FSMA regulations, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

• Operate auto-receiving system.

• Collect feed samples in accordance with sampling plan.
• Ensure bins and storage areas do not overflow.
• Complete and maintain appropriate paperwork and reports.
• Rotate stock.
• Communicate and coordinate batching schedule and production with appropriate personnel maximizing efficiency while following FDA, GMP and QC procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Communicate equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
• Perform routine housekeeping ensuring designated areas are kept clean.
• Operate forklift as necessary.
• Comply with all company policies, FSMA regulations, and local, state and federal laws, and regulations.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of feed manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance.
• Ability to perform basic math functions (i.e. proportions, percentages, area, volume, etc.).
• Possess basic computer knowledge and usage abilities.
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
• Ability to communicate effectively, and read and write legibly.
• Possess sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
  

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Previous feed mill experience.
  

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
• Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl and bend.
• Frequently climb stairs and 50+ foot ladders.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 - 100 lbs.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Constantly subject to dusty, hot environments.
• Frequently work in loud environment requiring ear protection.
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Ability to work at heights of 200+ ft.
• Ability to operate a pallet jack with 2,000+ lbs. of material.
