Job summary

Wayne Farms LLC in Guntersville, AL is seeking a warehouse associate responsible for unloading incoming ingredient trucks, routing materials to bins, and maintaining organization to maximize space.

You will inspect materials, collect samples, rotate stock, coordinate batching with production, perform routine maintenance, and ensure compliance with FSMA, GMP, and safety policies; forklift operation required. This is a full-time role with night/weekend shifts possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with feed manufacturing equipment preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math (proportions, percentages, volumes).
• Proficient with computers and basic data entry.
• Strong communication and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Unload incoming ingredient trucks and verify receipt against documents.
• Inspect materials for quality and accuracy of receiving paperwork.
• Rotate stock and manage bin storage to prevent overflow.
• Coordinate batching and production schedules with team members.
• Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety practices, including PPE.
• Operate forklift as needed and report malfunctions.

Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:Primarily responsible for unloading incoming ingredient trucks into correct bins, while maintaining organization and maximizing space utilization depending on current stock. In addition, will perform housekeeping activities, maintenance and repair of equipment, and quality checks on ingredients. Also responsible for preventing theft or loss of product ensuring trucks leave empty. Responsible for compliance with all company policies, FSMA regulations, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:Operate auto-receiving system.Unload incoming trucks.Inspect incoming material verifying condition and quality of product received matches receiving documents.Collect feed samples in accordance with sampling plan.Ensure bins and storage areas do not overflow.Complete and maintain appropriate paperwork and reports.Rotate stock.Communicate and coordinate batching schedule and production with appropriate personnel maximizing efficiency while following FDA, GMP and QC procedures.Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment.Communicate equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.Perform routine housekeeping ensuring designated areas are kept clean.Operate forklift as necessary.Comply with all company policies, FSMA regulations, and local, state and federal laws, and regulations.Perform all other duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS:High School Diploma or equivalent.Knowledge of feed manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance.Ability to perform basic math functions (i.e. proportions, percentages, area, volume, etc.).Possess basic computer knowledge and usage abilities.Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.Ability to communicate effectively, and read and write legibly.Possess sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Previous feed mill experience.SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl and bend.Frequently climb stairs and 50+ foot ladders.Ability to lift and carry 50 - 100 lbs.Ability to work in confined spaces.Constantly subject to dusty, hot environments.Frequently work in loud environment requiring ear protection.Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.Ability to work at heights of 200+ ft.Ability to operate a pallet jack with 2,000+ lbs. of material.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
