Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Feed Mill Maintenance Tech in Missouri to oversee maintenance and repair of feed mill equipment, including conveyors, boilers, pellet mills, hammer mills, and VFD drives. You will ensure accurate maintenance records, safety compliance, and reliability of equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma and industrial maintenance experience, with a focus on troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

High school diploma and 1 year of industrial maintenance experience.
Able to troubleshoot, repair and assemble feed mill equipment.
English reading and speaking ability.
Experience with electrical issues including solid-state circuitry, 110V control, lighting, VFD and 3-phase circuits.
Experience with pneumatic systems and metering/ liquids handling.
Able to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance docs.
Team oriented in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications such as forklift/LOTO/Confined space are a plus.

Responsibilities

Conducts daily maintenance activities in assigned equipment areas and schedules maintenance tasks.
Follow SOPs to replace, adjust, or install feed mill equipment.
Identify maintenance problems and develop strategies to prevent downtime.
Develop and improve cost-effective Preventative Maintenance programs.
Establish guidelines for parts replacement and repairs.
Promote safety and maintain housekeeping practices.
Monitor and maintain all feed mill equipment and documentation.
Ensure repairs follow procedures and environmental compliance.
Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
Maintain maintenance records and parts inventory.
Perform housekeeping as requested and ensure safety of personnel and assets.
Obtain and maintain required certifications for maintenance staff.
Report environmental and food safety issues to management.
Review emergency notification policies at the site.
