Qualifications

• High school diploma
• 1 year of successful industrial maintenance experience
• Ability to perform troubleshooting, repair and assembly of feed mill equipment
• Electrical knowledge including 110 V control circuits, lighting circuits, VFDs and soft-start drives
• Experience with pneumatic and liquid systems
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions
• Ability to read electrical schematics

Responsibilities

• Conducts daily maintenance work activities in assigned equipment areas and sets up maintenance schedules
• Follows standard operating maintenance instructions/procedures, including replacing, adjusting and installing feed mill equipment
• Maintain awareness of maintenance problems and develop strategies to correct them and reduce downtime
• Develop and improve a cost-effective Preventative Maintenance Program with supervisor
• Communicate consistent parts replacement or repair guidelines
• Promote an active Safety Awareness Program and housekeeping practices
• Monitor and maintain all feed mill equipment
• Ensure procedures are followed during repairs
• Comply with environmental laws and EMS policies
• Adjust maintenance procedures to meet production schedules
• Maintain shift maintenance activity reports and PM records
• Manage critical parts inventory
• Perform housekeeping duties as requested
• Ensure safety of employees and assets
• Acquire and maintain certifications (e.g., forklift, LOTO, Confined space)
• Report environmental issues and food safety, review emergency notification policy
