Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Feed Mill Maintenance Associate to oversee maintenance and repairs of equipment including conveyors, boilers, pellet mills, hammer mills, VFD drives, and more. You will evaluate and maintain records to support reliable operation in a large-scale production environment.

The ideal candidate will have a mechanical/electrical engineering background, hands-on maintenance experience in industrial settings, and strong safety and teamwork mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
• Minimum of 1+ years in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing.
• Ability to read, interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Welding and electrical skills; 3‑phase power experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventive and corrective maintenance on feed mill equipment, ensuring equipment reliability and minimal downtime.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical equipment issues.
• Follow all standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, GMPs, and safety practices when performing maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate maintenance activities to align with production schedules.
• Maintain maintenance records and PMs in the CMMS.
