Job Title: Federal Work Study - Theatre Assistant
Campus Location: ASU Beebe
The Theatre is seeking (4) Federal Work Study students at 15 hours each per week for the Fall 2026 & Spring 2027 terms. Duties are different in each area: costumes, lights, set/shop, and organizational stage assistant. This final position will assist with ticketing and thus have contact with the public. These positions will work closely with the supervisor/director for direction and instruction.
Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required. Appropriate skills to be able to manage each of these areas well. Knowledge & maturity to represent ASUB at recruiting functions.
Costuming Assistant: Basic sewing ability and a strong organizational ability.
Light Assistant: Knowledge of stage lighting, and the ability to hang and focus lights in the Theatre.
Design Assistan t: Knowledge of Art and Desktop Publishing skills.
Stage Assistant: Ability to stand, bend, and lift; the ability to carry any and all materials throughout the Theatre.
$11.00 per hour
This position will be subject to a pre-employment criminal, sex-offender registry background check. In cases where pre-determined, an additional financial/credit history/ background check may be required as well. Convictions that have been sealed or legally eradicated and misdemeanor convictions for which probation was completed and the case was dismissed, will be excluded. Disclosure does not constitute an automatic bar to employment. Factors such as dates of the offense, seriousness and nature of the violation, rehabilitation and position applied for will be taken into account.
