Bay de Noc Community College is seeking a Federal Work Study – Iron Mountain Student Success Center Assistant for the 2026-2027 year. The role supports student services at the Iron Mountain campus, assisting with reception, tutoring, and various clerical tasks while maintaining work-study eligibility.

The position offers 10–15 hours per week, with supervision under the Academic Support Coordinator, and requires enrollment as a degree-seeking student with progress toward degree requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be a Bay College student in the work study program.
• Enrollment in a minimum of one credit that applies toward the semester.
• Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide general reception duties for public, students, and employees of the college.
• Answer phones.
• Provide clerical support including data entry, file organization, copying, and assembly and production of materials for the center.
• Calling students to inform them about the Online Learning Orientation.
• Filter student questions to appropriate staff; coordinators, SI leaders, walk-in tutors.
• Helping them with username and password issues over the phone/online.
• Building Open Educational Resources.
• Providing technical assistance to students.
• Assisting with troubleshooting questions and/or problems related to Online Learning.
• Assisting with designing, developing, and delivering training.
• Assisting with developing instructional products.
• Assist with coffee area upkeep and water plants.
• Provide walk‑in tutoring in strong subject areas.
• Monitor item check‑out and keep records of items.
