Federal Work Study or Student Worker: REC- Operations Assistant page is loaded## Federal Work Study or Student Worker: REC- Operations AssistantApplylocations: Commerce, TXtime type: Part timeposted on: Posted 2 Days Agojob requisition id: R-096106**Job Title**Federal Work Study or Student Worker: REC- Operations Assistant**Agency**East Texas A&M University**Department**Campus Recreation**Proposed Minimum Salary**Commensurate**Job Location**Commerce, Texas**Job Type**Student Worker**Job Description****Position Title: Operations Assistant****Provide:**ResumeWork Study Permit**Summary of Responsibilities:**This position is responsible for maintaining the cardio, track, and weight areas of the Morris Recreation Center as well as provide assistance with facility access and equipment checkout.**Primary Duties:*** Enforce all Morris Recreation Center, Campus Recreation, and University policies and procedures* Maintain cleanliness of equipment and cardio, track, and weight areas* Assist and inform patrons on usage and technique of equipment and machines in the cardio, track, and weight areas* Explain how to execute various exercise techniques and how to use various exercise equipment* Assist patrons with spotting and using exercise equipment* Maintain organization of weight room, track, and cardio area equipment* Report equipment needs and maintenance repairs* Assist with set-up up facility needs and reservations* Log and track usage of fitness equipment* Oversee the reception desk area and answer phone calls* Assist patrons with lockers* Support facility supervisor* Assist with patron counts* Perform other duties assigned**Department Responsibilities*** Market Campus Recreation and area events.* Demonstrate a commitment to providing an environment where people feel welcomed, valued, supported, and respected as they work to pursue their academic and professional goals.* Act as a first responder in emergency situations* Attend all department and area trainings and meetings as assigned* Must possess a current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Provided by the department at no cost* Keep up to date on all TrainTraq assignments* Be prepared to encounter and respond to various hazards, with training provided to ensure safety and proper handling of potential risks.* Maintain a standard of conduct while participating in Campus Rec activities or facilities, serving as a role model for other patrons by adhering to all safety, behavior, and policies.* Perform other duties as assigned* Assists with department events and programming as needed* Work early morning, night and weekend hours as needed**Minimum Qualifications for Considerations:*** NoneAll positions are security-sensitive.
