Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems in the Washington D.C. Metro area is seeking a Security Systems Application Engineer to support federal ESS projects, with Fort Meade as the primary site and travel to other DMV locations as needed.

You will participate in the full project lifecycle from pre-sales through commissioning, designing system shop drawings, programming, testing, and delivering field training to customers.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial/industrial electronic security systems; programming, configurations & integrations preferred.
• Experience with pre-sales engineering support (cost estimating, site surveys, shop drawing submittals).
• Advanced CAD and drafting skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle of security projects from pre-sales to commissioning.
• Configure and program access controls, IDS, CCTV and other subsystems.
• Develop and test software programs to operate project systems.
• Prepare drawings, equipment schedules and submittals for approvals.
• Provide field training and support to technicians and customers.
