Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Mail Clerk within the Veterans Health Administration.

The role supports internal/external mail distribution, handling of hazardous materials, and mailroom operations across a large Atlanta complex. Typical duties include driving a government vehicle for on-site and off-site mail delivery, logging mail piece identifications, and ensuring proper tracking and security of pharmacy packages.

Qualifications

• Transcript must be submitted with your application.
• Education recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited institutions.
• If using foreign education, send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript.

Responsibilities

• Distributes internal/external mail; receives all facility mail from USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.
• Operates a motorized mail truck to deliver mail to multiple buildings within the complex; may include off-station deliveries in Atlanta.
• Manages mailroom operations including vehicle checks, fuel, maintenance, and inventory; monitors metered mail budget.
• Performs quality assurance on mailroom processes and tracks packages in the Send Suite Packaging Tracking System.
