About the ProgramDynamic Systems Technology, Inc. (DysTech) is seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist specializing in federal retirement to support the U.S. Coast Guard’s Civilian Human Resources Office. This program supports the Coast Guard’s civilian retirement-services workload and broader workforce-management mission.About the RoleMust be located in the Washington, DC area. Potential for client-approved remote work.In this role, you will help Coast Guard civilian employees navigate important retirement decisions by reviewing retirement packages, evaluating eligibility, preparing estimates, and providing accurate advisory services. You will independently apply federal retirement regulations and explain complex benefit information clearly so employees can make informed decisions.This position is well suited for an experienced federal retirement professional with deep knowledge of voluntary and disability retirement cases and the ability to deliver accurate, responsive, and employee-focused guidance.Key ResponsibilitiesTasks include but are not limited to:Review voluntary and disability retirement packages for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with federal requirements.Evaluate retirement eligibility and apply applicable federal retirement rules and regulations.Prepare retirement estimates and explain the information used in those calculations.Provide employees with clear, accurate guidance regarding federal retirement benefits, eligibility, and retirement options.Code and process retirement personnel actions in accordance with OPM’s Guide to Processing Personnel Actions.Maintain accurate case documentation and safeguard sensitive employee and retirement information.Required QualificationsAt least six years of experience providing federal retirement support comparable to the responsibilities described above.Expert knowledge of federal retirement benefits, eligibility requirements, rules, and regulations.Demonstrated experience reviewing voluntary and disability retirement cases.Experience preparing retirement estimates and advising employees on the contents of those estimates.Ability to independently review and provide guidance regarding federal retirement benefits and eligibility.Experience coding and processing retirement personnel actions in accordance with OPM guidance.Strong analytical, written communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to successfully complete Government-required background, credentialing, and system-access processes.Preferred QualificationsExperience managing complex or sensitive federal retirement cases.Experience explaining technical retirement information to employees with varying levels of familiarity.Previous retirement-services experience supporting DHS, the Coast Guard, or another federal civilian HR organization.Experience coordinating with federal HR specialists and other stakeholders to resolve retirement-case issues.Work Location and FlexibilityThe primary work location is the Douglas A. Munro Coast Guard Headquarters Building in Washington, DC. The position offers potential for remote or telework flexibility when approved by the Government and appropriate for the assigned work.
