Job summary

SMX seeks a federal financial business analyst to join the client service delivery team on the BAS solution for federal customers. This 100% remote role requires minimal travel (<20%) and a Public Trust clearance. You will translate budgeting and planning processes into actionable requirements and collaborate with budget SMEs to deliver enhanced analytics-driven solutions.

You will develop workflows, document SDLC artifacts, and support testing and rollout across client engagements, working with a multidisciplinary team to maximize client value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in federal financial management, business analysis, data analytics, consulting, or operations planning.
• Experience with federal government financial data, data reconciliation, and exception resolution.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of client objectives, financial operations, and strategic priorities.
• Analyze and document business processes, workflows, requirements, and decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions to enhance efficiency and financial outcomes.
• Review policies, data structures, and procedures to assess impacts on business and financial processes.
• Utilize BI tools to maximize the value of client data assets.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions to improve operations and reporting.
• Collaborate across teams to align requirements across business, data, and technology.
• Create quality documentation across SDLC phases (RTM, FDD, Design Documents, end user docs, training guides, online help).
• Develop test plans, business use cases, and manage test execution.
