Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced engineer to serve as the technical liaison among federal design and construction teams and contractors. You will review submittals, drawings, specifications, RFIs and reports for compliance with standards, applying engineering principles across planning, design review, construction administration, and assessment.

You will develop cost estimates, participate in pre-construction activities, and mentor junior staff while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and DoD project processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical liaison between federal government client design branch, construction branch, and contractors.
• Review design submittals, shop drawings, specs, RFIs, and reports for compliance with standards.
• Apply engineering principles across planning, investigation, design review, construction administration and assessment.
• Prepare progress/status reports and provide engineering judgments for field modifications.
