Job summary

C.D. Smith Construction, Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer to provide on-site support to the Superintendent and Project Manager, bridging field operations with office documentation. The role involves RFIs, submittals, BIM coordination, and scheduling input to keep quality, safety, and schedule on track.

You will participate in field activities, maintain logs, capture progress, and contribute to closeout documentation while collaborating with subcontractors and the Owner’s team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting on-site field operations and coordination with the project team.
• Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, and meetings.
• Knowledge of BIM coordination processes and field implications such as clash detection.

Responsibilities

• Update field drawing sets with current RFIs and Construction Bulletins.
• Assist in drafting, managing, and distributing RFIs to the design team.
• Assist in reviewing subcontractor submittals against contract drawings and coordinating with the Submittal Manager.
