Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced engineer to act as the technical liaison between federal design and construction teams. You will review submittals, RFIs, and reports for compliance with FAR/DFARS and client standards while guiding design and construction administration.

Domestic travel is required, with overseas travel possible. The role includes mentoring junior staff, developing cost estimates, and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering high-quality documentation and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
At least 5 years of relevant experience.
Domestic travel is required. Overseas travel is also possible.
PE license or RA preferred; OSHA 30-hour; DoD project experience desirable.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical liaison between federal government client design branch, construction branch, and contractors.
Review design submittals, shop drawings, specifications, RFIs, and technical reports for compliance with Federal and client specific standards.
Apply engineering principles and relevant codes across planning, investigation, design review, construction administration, and assessment of procedures.
Monitors progress and prepares technical reports and/or project status reports.
Provide engineering judgment for field modifications, non-conformance issues, value engineering proposals, and constructability reviews.
Develop and maintain client relationships through responsive communication and strong technical support.
