Job summary

Optiv + ClearShark Federal is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting and finance function in a hybrid role in Virginia. You will direct accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives and prepare financial reports for executive leadership.

The role requires heavy involvement in month-end close, policy development, internal controls, and interaction with external auditors and management across divisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree / MBA or practical equivalent.
• 10+ years of solid accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, including Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
• 5-10 years progressive accounting experience managing/maintaining Deltek Costpoint ERP system.
• Hands-on knowledge of DCAA compliance standards, CAS, and FAR.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations of the accounting, finance, and related functions.
• Build and develop accounting policies and procedures.
• Oversee month-end close process, including reconciliations and fluctuation analysis.
• Coordinate, analyze, and report financial performance to management.
• Oversee payments of all accounts and monitor working capital.
• Recommend benchmarks for measuring financial/operating performance.
• Prepare financial statements and notes; manage external auditors.
