Job summary

Optiv + ClearShark is seeking a Senior Controller to direct all accounting functions in a hybrid role at our Chantilly, VA office. You will lead month-end close, build accounting policies, and coordinate financial reporting. The role requires 10+ years of accounting experience, GAAP/SEC knowledge, and staff leadership.

Experience with Deltek Costpoint and DCAA/CAS/FAR is preferred. You will collaborate with senior management and support contract negotiations and system upgrades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree / MBA or practical equivalent required.
• 10+ years of solid accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and SEC rules, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

This is a hybrid position, with the expectation of being on-site at our Chantilly, VA office 3-4 times a week.The Optiv + ClearShark Federal Controller directs all accounting functions including establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, and preparation of financial reports. This position reports to the Optiv + ClearShark President with indirect reporting to the Optiv Finance leadership team.How you’ll make an impact• Oversee the operations of the accounting, finance, and related functions.• Responsible for building and developing accounting policies and procedures.• Oversight of month-end close process, including review of reconciliations, fluctuation analysis, and identification and research of accounting issues.• Coordinate, analyze, and report financial performance to management.• Oversee payments of all accounts.• Monitor working capital and funding balances.• Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of company divisions.• Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget• Manage the preparation of the financial statements and notes thereto• Manage the external auditors.• Represent finance in the identification and implementation of new systems and upgrade of existing systems.• Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and investment decisions.• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and principles.• Responsible for leading and managing the Federal Finance and Accounting team.What we’re looking for• Bachelor’s Degree / MBA or practical equivalent.• 10 or more years of solid accounting experience.• Knowledge of GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, including Sarbanes Oxley compliance.• 5-10 years progressive accounting experience managing/maintaining Deltek Costpoint ERP system.• Hands-on knowledge of DCAA compliance standards, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).• Ability to demonstrate leadership, creativity, and initiative.• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.• Experience with creating financial statements.• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close.• Strong accounting software user and administration skills.• Experience working with senior management leadership and ability to influence others cross-functionally.• Experience leading and managing people and direct reports is required.• Strong written and oral communication skills.What you can expect from OptivWork/life balanceProfessional training resourcesCreative problem-solving and the ability to tackle unique, complex projectsVolunteer Opportunities. “Optiv Chips In” encourages employees to volunteer and engage with their teams and communities.The ability and technology necessary to productively work remotely/from home (where applicable)EEO StatementOptiv + ClearShark is an equal opportunity employer.
