Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a qualified Federal Construction Project Manager to lead all phases of large-scale government projects in the United States. You will plan, direct, and manage activities, coordinate contractors, and ensure adherence to scope, budget, and schedule.

The role requires strong communication with federal clients and oversight of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will mentor junior staff, develop documentation, and manage stakeholder relationships across the project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced certifications preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Federal construction projects.
• Ability to interpret construction codes, plans, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and manage all phases of Federal construction projects to ensure successful execution.
• Oversee and coordinate activities of contractors and on-site personnel to maintain quality and safety.
• Act as liaison between Federal government client’s construction branch and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication.
• Review and evaluate construction documents to ensure alignment with FAR, standards, and codes.
• Lead pre-construction conferences, design and progress meetings, on-site inspections, and closeout activities.
• Ensure all construction activities meet federal safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Track project performance metrics, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor and train junior staff, promoting best practices in construction management.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation for submission to federal agencies.
• Promote a culture of safety across all sites; manage travel as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
