Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) at multiple grade levels (GL-5 to GS-11/12). This opportunity offers competitive base pay, robust federal benefits, leave programs, and Thrift Savings Plan.

Incentives include up to $20,000 recruitment and up to $30,000 retention, with prioritized duty locations listed. New BPAs will train at the Border Patrol Academy and may be assigned to locations nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course of study from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
• Inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Performing patrols and checks across various terrains and assets.
• Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using government assets.
