Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) for full-time, entry- and mid-level roles nationwide. The position offers competitive base pay, excellent federal benefits, job stability, and recruitment/retention incentives.

BPAs perform border enforcement duties, inspect documents, and investigate leads using diverse assets. Training occurs at the Border Patrol Academy, with opportunities for advancement based on experience and education.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience or education substituting for experience.
• Ability to learn regulations, methods, and techniques through training.
• Gather information through questioning, observation, and document review.

Responsibilities

• Perform border enforcement duties including inspecting documents and questioning individuals.
• Detect and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpret tracks, evidence, and indicators of illegal entry or contraband.
• Patrol borders using vehicles, horses, vessels, and other assets to fulfill CBP mission.
• Coordinate with other agencies and follow legal procedures during operations.
