New BPA appointments may receive recruitment and retention incentives, plus comprehensive federal benefits, health, and retirement plans. Starting salary varies by grade, with a base range noted from $51,632 to $124,717 per year.

Qualifikationen

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge, make sound decisions and stay composed in stressful situations.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, OR
• A combination of general work experience AND successfully completed college education. This will be calculated using your resume and transcripts.

Aufgaben

• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night operations.
• Interpret and follow tracks, marks and other evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Perform farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrol the international boundary and coastal waterways using various government assets.
