Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a Federal Alternative Delivery Market Lead to shape pursuit strategy and partnerships with national and regional General Contractors for DB and large-scale design-build projects.

You will lead early teaming, cultivate executive relationships, and coordinate with CSLs, preconstruction, legal and sales teams to maximize our probability of award while advancing a disciplined, value-driven approach to federal opportunities.

Qualifications

• 15 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in federal architecture, engineering and construction business development, capture management, or preconstruction.

Responsibilities

• Target and establish direct relationships with regional and national General Contractors pursuing federal alternative delivery contracts.
• Position CDM Smith as the preferred design subcontractor early in the procurement cycle and negotiate exclusivity, teaming terms, and scopes of work prior to solicitation.
• Work with the pursuit team to present engineering expertise, constructability, cost validation, design-phase management, risk mitigation, and phased delivery models to General Contractor teams.
• Lead teaming strategy for Department of War and other federal opportunities by translating procurement criteria into competitive designer-led structures.
• Maintain a qualified pipeline of federal opportunities, tracking relationship status, teaming decisions, and next actions.
• Identify and resolve friction points between the General Contractor and the architect-engineer team during design validation and cost reconciliation.
• Serve as the senior relationship and capture lead through teaming agreement execution and transition to pursuit and delivery teams.
