Job summary

Simple Technology Solutions is seeking an AI Business Analyst to join our team supporting federal government clients. The role centers on turning mission needs into concrete requirements, use cases, mockups, and specifications, guiding AI-enabled delivery with a strong emphasis on user feedback and governance.

Remote position with occasional travel to client sites and STS events; DC Metro area preferred for in-person events.

Qualifications

• US citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, IS, CS or related field; master's a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of business or systems analysis experience on software teams.
• Experience with AI, ML, or data-intensive projects in federal or public sector.
• Strong use-case, spec, and backlog skills with Jira and agile ceremonies.
• Experience coordinating with federal stakeholders and governance constraints.
• Proficiency with wireframing tools and AI tooling for requirements drafting.
• Clear, candid communication with technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, and document requirements for AI applications with federal stakeholders.
• Produce use cases, mockups, and specifications guiding development.
• Validate early with potential users and maintain traceability to Jira cards.
• Collaborate on backlog grooming, acceptance criteria, and delivery priorities.
• Define acceptance criteria and expected AI behavior for each use case.
• Model business processes, data flows, and AI value vs risk.
• Facilitate demos and feedback sessions; document decisions in artifacts.
• Support governance, data handling, and responsible-AI considerations.
• Contribute to SDLC standards and proposal content for business development.
