Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse in a fast-paced hospital environment. The role involves assessing and directing nursing care, coordinating with multiple departments, and ensuring patient safety through ventilator management, lab draws, and emergency response.

The position requires Texas RN licensure (or compact state license), relevant nursing degree, and the ability to work weekends and nights.

Qualifications

• RN Licensure in Texas or compact state license; valid temporary RN license acceptable.
• Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degree or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, direct, and evaluate nursing care for patients.
• Interact with hospital staff and ancillary departments to address patient care concerns and coordinate resolutions.
• Operate without Unit Clerk, Respiratory Therapy, Stroke Team, OB Support, Code Blue, Phlebotomy and House Supervisor during shift.
• Maintain competency in ventilator management, lab draws including ABGs, and responding to Code Blue.
• Work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and on-call as required.
