Feature Owner (FO) – Thermal Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

Our client in Novi, MI is looking for a Feature Owner (FO) – Thermal Systems Engineer. This is a contract position.

Thermal Energy Systems champion of 1st principles design methodology and use extensive problem-solving in an environment that contains confidential and proprietary Electric Vehicle information.

Develop and maintain Best Practices: Design Standards, Test Procedures, Technical Specifications. Thermal modeling, system simulation (GT-Suite, MATLAB/Simulink), and cross-functional collaboration with battery, powertrain, and vehicle integration teams.

Key areas of focus:

· Battery thermal management (cooling/heating)

· Power electronics and motor cooling systems

· HVAC interaction and integration

· Heat pump and refrigerant system strategies

· Cold-weather performance and range optimization

Qualifications:

· Required: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering along with 5+ years of post-graduation experience.

· 3+ years of post-graduation experience in Electrical Vehicle Engineering.

· 3+ years of Electric Vehicle Energy Systems experience in Thermal / HVAC / Climate / Cooling / CFD etc.

· 5+ years - Supporting Feature Partners to deliver a set of Features & Functions into Production.

· 5+ years of experience with end-to-end delivery of key system functions with release to program milestones

· 5+ years of background experience in collaboration with stakeholders through system “V” development from concept to launch with design reviews and cross-functional team.

· 5+ years of experience with functional, non-functional requirements, development, validation and signoffs.

· 6+ years of experience with domain/working knowledge of SW controls, EE, Electronics, Hardware and expertise in development, testing and validation methods of the Discipline Areas outlined above.

· 6+ years of developing component and system design, functional, EOL specifications, detailed test methods and system level DFMEA, DV, PV for complex mechatronic systems.

· 5+ years of analytical development using model-based design, MBSE/MBD simulation toolsets, MIL/SIL/HIL

· 5+ years of experience leading and/or supporting sprint planning and daily standup meetings.
