Transforming the Future with Convergence of Simulation and Data

Our client in Novi, MI is looking for a Feature Owner (FO) – Electrical Systems Engineer. This is a contract position.

Role objectives:

Electrical Systems champion of 1st principles design methodology and use extensive problem-solving in an environment that contains confidential and proprietary Electric Vehicle information.

Develop and maintain Best Practices: Design Standards, Test Procedures, Technical Specifications. Own the design and performance of Electrical Systems. Manage the evolution of the low-voltage (12V) electrical architecture in an all-electric vehicle. Drive system performance, redundancy, and integration with high-voltage systems.

Key Focus Areas:

• 12V battery design and state estimation
• Power distribution units and load control
• Redundancy and fail-safe logic
• Software-controlled power management
• Transition from legacy 12V to newer LV architectures

Required background experience in:

• Required: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering along with 5+ years of post-graduation experience.
• 5+ years Deep experience in automotive electrical systems, CAN/LIN protocols, and electrical diagnostics. Familiar with transitioning high volt to low-voltage battery systems.
• 3+ years of Electric Vehicle Energy Systems experience in Energy Management.
• 5+ years supporting Feature Partners to deliver Features & Functions into Production.
• 5+ years of experience with end-to-end delivery of key system functions with release to program milestones.
• 5+ years of background in collaboration with stakeholders through system “V” development from concept to launch with design reviews and cross-functional teams.
• 5+ years of experience with functional, non-functional requirements, development, validation, and signoffs.
• 6+ years of experience with domain/working knowledge of SW controls, EE, Electronics, Hardware, and expertise in development, testing, and validation methods of the Discipline Areas outlined above.
• 6+ years of developing component and system design, functional, EOL specifications, detailed test methods, and system level DFMEA, DV, PV for complex mechatronic systems.
• 5+ years of analytical development using model-based design, MBSE/MBD simulation toolsets, MIL/SIL/HIL.
• 5+ years of experience leading/supporting sprint planning and daily standup meetings.
