Job Summary

Our client in Novi, MI is looking for a Feature Owner (FO) – Thermal Systems Engineer. This is a contract position.

The role involves thermal energy systems design, problem-solving with confidential Electric Vehicle information, and developing best practices such as design standards, test procedures, and technical specifications. Responsibilities include thermal modeling, system simulation (GT-Suite, MATLAB/Simulink), and collaboration with battery, powertrain, and vehicle integration teams.

Key Areas Of Focus

• Battery thermal management (cooling/heating)
• Power electronics and motor cooling systems
• HVAC interaction and integration
• Heat pump and refrigerant system strategies
• Cold-weather performance and range optimization

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering with 5+ years of experience
• 3+ years in Electric Vehicle Engineering
• 3+ years in Thermal/HVAC/Climate/Cooling/CFD
• Supporting feature delivery into production for 5+ years
• Experience with system functions, design reviews, and cross-functional teams for 5+ years
• Knowledge of SW controls, EE, Electronics, Hardware, and validation methods for 6+ years
• Component and system design, test methods, and DFMEA experience for 6+ years
• Model-based design, MBSE/MBD, MIL/SIL/HIL experience for 5+ years
• Supporting sprint planning and daily standups for 5+ years
