Feature Owner (FO) – Energy Systems Integration Engineer

Job Summary:

Our client in Novi, MI is seeking a Feature Owner (FO) – Energy Systems Integration Engineer for a contract position.

Role Objectives:

Lead electrical systems integration using 1st principles design methodology, applying extensive problem-solving in an environment containing confidential Electric Vehicle information.

Develop and maintain best practices, design standards, test procedures, and technical specifications. Own the design and performance of Energy Systems Integration. The Electrical Engineer should have HV bus experience, manage complex projects, coordinate with other engineers, and create status summaries. The primary role involves supporting the integration of Energy System sub-systems (HV Battery, Thermal Systems, Charging, HV & LV Bus, HV Safety) into the vehicle platform, ensuring all sub-systems meet vehicle metrics on-time and with quality. Responsible for integrating all HV components into a HV Bus Architecture, including mechanical and electrical interactions and requirements.

Required Background and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering with 5+ years of post-graduation experience.
• Over 5 years of deep experience in automotive electrical systems integration for EV, HV, LV electric vehicle energy platforms.
• At least 3 years of electrical integration experience supporting the Energy Systems team, including participation in weekly kick-off meetings and defining agenda topics.
• Experience with HV and LV bus specification documents and HV Mechanization diagrams (5+ years).
• Experience working with Functional and HV Safety to define test plans for HV Bus validation.
• Over 5 years of technical expertise in integrating Power Electronics into a HV Bus.
• At least 3 years of experience leading DFMEA reviews for systems integration.
• Experience adapting to different work packages during product development cycles.
