Feature Owner (FO) – Battery Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

Our client in Novi, MI is looking for a Feature Owner (FO) – Battery Systems Engineer. This is a contract position.

Role objectives:

Battery Systems champion of 1st principles design methodology and use extensive problem-solving in an environment that contains confidential and proprietary Electric Vehicle information.

Develop and maintain Best Practices: Design Standards, Test Procedures, Technical Specifications. Own the design and performance of Battery Systems. BMS / HV Battery Feature Owner. Technical leader for the high-voltage battery system and BMS. This includes performance, safety, life-cycle modeling, and integration with vehicle systems.

Key Focus Areas:

·Battery pack performance, thermal and electrical

·Battery Management System (hardware/software)

·SOC, SOH, and SOP algorithms

·High-voltage safety and control

·Integration with thermal and energy systems

Required background experience in:

·Required: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering along with 5+ years of post-graduation experience.

·5+ years Deep experience in automotive electrical systems, CAN/LIN protocols, and electrical diagnostics. Familiar with transitioning high volt to low-voltage battery systems.

·3+ years of Electric Vehicle Energy Systems experience in Battery cell BMS knowledge BMS algorithm development, validation, and hands-on testing experience. Experience with ISO 26262 a plus.

·5+ years - Supporting Feature Partners to deliver a set of Features & Functions into Production.

·5+ years of experience with end-to-end delivery of key system functions with release to program milestones

·5+ years of background experience in collaboration with stakeholders through system “V” development from concept to launch with design reviews and cross-functional team.

·5+ years of experience with functional, non-functional requirements, development, validation and signoffs.

·6+ years of experience with domain/working knowledge of SW controls, EE, Electronics, Hardware and expertise in development, testing and validation methods of the Discipline Areas outlined above.

·6+ years of developing component and system design, functional, EOL specifications, detailed test methods and system level DFMEA, DV, PV for complex mechatronic systems.

·5+ years of analytical development using model-based design, MBSE/MBD simulation toolsets, MIL/SIL/HIL

·5+ years of experience leading and/or supporting sprint planning and daily standup meetings.
