Job summary

ITW is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician at our Itasca, IL facility. The role involves setup, operation, and preventive maintenance of fastener manufacturing equipment to produce to quality specs in a safe environment.

The incumbent will perform setup, operation and troubleshooting of inline equipment for cold heading processes, conduct quality checks, and support continuous improvements. Overtime including weekends may be required in a high-demand plant setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least five years of experience in high-volume cold heading metal fastener manufacturing.
• Willing to work assigned shift with some mandatory overtime including weekends.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and follow instructions.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs setup and operates a variety of in-line equipment to cold head, point and thread-roll fasteners for commercial construction.
• Performs routine and non-routine maintenance on equipment including preventive maintenance tasks.
• Performs quality checks in adherence to specifications sheets and documents results.
• Drives safety practices and identifies hazards.
• Analyzes and troubleshoots production and equipment failures.
• Inspects all incoming tooling.
• Monitors performance of production equipment and supports upgrades.
• Assists with installation of equipment as needed.
• Maintains housekeeping and 6-S improvements.
• Trains and works with team members; may operate production lines.
• Other duties as assigned.
