Job summary

ITW in Bartlett, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep production equipment and facility systems running smoothly. You’ll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain extrusion machinery and plant systems while ensuring safety and uptime.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, ability to read schematics, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Overtime support for production is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of process controls, industrial electrical wiring and 3 phase systems up to 480 Volts.
• Knowledge of A/C and D/C motors and controls.
• Familiarity with PLCs, motors, drives, and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and CMMS systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of safety protocols and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues with Extrusion Molding machinery.
• Perform repairs and replacement of faulty components to keep machines operating efficiently.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Document work requests, work orders, and machinery failures for machines and equipment.
• Utilize electrical measuring instruments to solve electrical issues.
• Maintain chiller system
• Maintain plant air supply system
• Maintain resin delivery system
• Record and maintain spare part usage
