Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company is launching an Assistant Manager Trainee Program in Norfolk, VA. This entry-level, accelerated track lasts 18–24 months, with an initial 6–8 week training phase.

The typical schedule is 44 hours per week, including evenings/weekends, and you will train toward an Assistant Store Manager role. Throughout the program you’ll learn operations, sales to large commercial users, and leadership fundamentals.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
• Must have at least a High School diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Complete training consistent with established program.
• Support business strategies to increase sales and profitability.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
• Build and maintain knowledge of all products to provide effective customer recommendations.
• Build positive relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
• Complete store administration.
• Ensure compliance with safety and security policies.
• Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards.
• Support employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action.
• Respond to and resolve customer and/or employee complaints.
• Partner with Store Manager to make outside sales calls to increase market share.
