Job summary

Hoke Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department Access Representative to register patients promptly in the fast-paced ED, gather demographics and insurance information, and verify insurance eligibility. You will collect patient liabilities at discharge and support the clinical team with accurate registration records.

The role requires clear communication, data entry accuracy, and the ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years insurance/clerical experience within a hospital or medical office preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance and collection of payments preferred.
• Ability to type and perform data entry functions.

Responsibilities

• Register emergency service patients in a fast-paced environment and create patient accounts.
• Query EAD and enter demographic data to obtain patient MRN and account numbers.
• Place patient identification armbands after accounts are created for safety.
• Obtain demographic, guarantor, and insurance information and document it accurately.
