Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Cashier/Checker to greet customers, process transactions quickly and accurately, and operate the POS system. You will handle various tenders and loyalty offers while adhering to company policies.

The role requires strong customer service and basic math skills in a fast-paced store environment. You will maintain safety guidelines, help customers, and work with team members to ensure a welcoming shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist at the check lane with transactions.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC and loyalty offers.
• Adhere to policies on restricted items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and report discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons procedures where applicable.
• Ensure safety and food safety guidelines are followed; identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering questions about store products and services.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and handle conflicts calmly.
• Comply with all laws and company guidelines; assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
