Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Cashier/Checker to create an outstanding customer experience by greeting customers, assisting them, and maintaining a safe, clean environment that encourages return visits.

The role requires handling transactions quickly and accurately, mastering the POS system, managing cash, checks, cards, and other tenders, while following policy, promoting safety, and upholding the company’s values.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers to create an outstanding experience
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane
• Operate the POS system and handle multiple tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons) according to policy
• Follow cash-handling guidelines and protect against loss
• Adhere to age-restricted item restrictions (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and report pricing discrepancies as needed
• Maintain store safety, cleanliness, and adherence to procedures, and assist with customer questions
