Job summary

Kroger is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Cashier/Checker to join our store team. You will greet customers, handle transactions and operate the POS system while following company policies and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include assisting shoppers, managing cash and tender types, staying current with promotions, and contributing to a safe, welcoming environment. Part-time or full-time scheduling may apply, with opportunities for growth within the Kroger family.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greets, engages and assists customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly and accurately at the check lane.
• Understand POS system and handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP/EBT, loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons procedures.
• Stay current with ads and promotions, and uphold food safety regulations.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and notify when repairs are needed.
• Provide friendly, welcoming service and answer questions about products.
• Comply with all laws and company guidelines and work well under pressure.
