Job summary

White House Black Market is seeking an Assistant Manager in San Mateo, CA to support the Store Manager in leading the team and creating a welcoming customer experience. This role focuses on community engagement, brand standards, and driving store performance.

The position requires 3 years of retail management experience (preferred), flexible hours including nights and weekends, and the ability to coach associates while delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• 3 years of retail management experience preferred.
• Flexible availability—nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to develop strong customer and peer relationships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to bend, reach, stretch, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a team to deliver a customer-centered experience.
• Take ownership to achieve the financial goals of the store and motivate the team.
• Assist in the hiring, development, and coaching of associates.
• Lead on the sales floor with an omni-channel approach and product knowledge.
• Maintain a visually inspiring store environment reflecting brand standards.
