H2ajobs is seeking a Farmhand to care for live farm and ranch animals, including cattle, on our Illinois site. You will feed, water, herd, graze, and load animals, assist with births, and monitor health, with a focus on safety and animal welfare.

Responsibilities include maintaining housing areas, cleaning facilities, and following instructions. CDL not required but preferred; English is required; lifting up to 50 lbs may be necessary.

Attend to live farm, ranch animals including cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, and loading animals; Mix feed in prescribed portions; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Assist in birth deliveries; Closely monitor animal condition in cold, wet, icy weather; Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; Conserve animal housing areas; Inspect, maintain, prepare, and repair livestock facilities, pens, yards, feeding/watering equipment; Provide mineral to cattle; Break ice in watering facilities; Cleaning grain bins; A CDL is not required but preferred; Must speak and understand English.

• Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
• Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold. Lift and carry supplies. Follow instructions. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean driving record to be able to operate company vehicle. Lift up to 50 lbs.
