Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking an entry-level livestock worker in Forrest City, AR to care for cattle and assist with daily farm operations. You will feed, water, herd, and monitor cattle, while keeping records and helping with births as needed.

The role requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in extreme weather. Housing and meals may be provided to support workers on site.

Responsibilities

• Feed, water, herd, and graze cattle on live farm property.
• Inspect animals for disease or injury and administer medicines as directed.
• Haul feed, grain, and cattle to market and assist with births.
• Maintain records on animals and farm activities; perform equipment maintenance.
• Work in heat, humidity, wind, and cold; cooperate with team tasks.

Job description

Attend to live farm, ranch animals that include black angus cattle; Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, catching, loading animals; Maintain records on animals; Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; Administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate; Haul feed, grain, and cattle/commodities to market; Assist with live births; Break ice in stock takes, thaw frozen lines; Inspect, maintain, prepare, repair items including feeding/watering equipment, gating; Push and scrape manure and perform dirt work in fields; Provide mineral to cattle; Must speak English.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold. Lift and carry supplies. Follow instructions. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean driving record to be able to operate company vehicle. Lift up to 50 lbs.
