Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking a dedicated farmworker for livestock care tasks in Arkansas. Responsibilities include feeding, watering, herding cattle, and assisting with branding and load/unload operations. You may drive farm equipment to move feed and cattle, inspect facilities, and help maintain grounds and fences.

Job description

Duties may include: Duties may include: Attend to cattle, feeding, watering, herding, grazing, branding, catching, loading, hauling manure and hauling feed. Inspect, maintain equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences. May maintain records on cattle; examine cattle to detect diseases or injuries, administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate. Drive farm trucks, farm tractors and other equipment to haul feed and cattle/commodities to market. Maintain farm grounds/roads. Rain days are typically spent in the shop maintaining equipment and preparing for the next days’ work. Assist with snow removal from access roads, livestock areas, and buildings on the farm during the winter season & other related Farmworker, Livestock activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate. See attached Addendum C.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: The employer will furnish cooking facilities, utilities, and utensils for workers to prepare their own meals in the housing provided kitchen. Included basic appliances will consist of, but is not limited to, refrigerator, stove/oven, and sink with hot and cold-water connections. All appliances included will be in good, working condition for the workers. Employer will provide transportation to grocery store at least once a week for workers who wish to shop for food.

Transport: The employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to H-2A or U.S. workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved in traveling (a) to the place of employment from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer (i.e., inbound) and (b) from the pl... Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 60lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area.
