Job summary

H2ajobs in Texas seeks farmworker livestock personnel to attend cattle, perform feeding, watering, herding, catching, and loading duties. Responsibilities include hay hauling, pasture rotation, health monitoring, and basic vehicle operation. Housing and meals are provided; transportation to groceries and other amenities is arranged; weekend/holiday work possible. Must be 18+, legally eligible to work in the U.S., and able to lift up to 100 lbs.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Able to obtain a valid US driver's license within 2 weeks of reporting and maintain a clean MVR.
• Must be available for the entire period and work during weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Feed, water, herd, catch, and load cattle.
• Haul hay and transport feed and supplies.
• Maintain cattle health, rotate pastures, and monitor conditions.
• Operate basic equipment and clean pens, fences, and facilities.
• Fulfill administrative records related to farm activities.

Job description

Attend to cattle. Duties may include feeding, watering, herding, catching, and loading. Hauling hay. Precondition and maintain cattle: Hay all cattle, haul water to cattle, mix feed, monitor health, vaccinate, rotate cattle between pastures. Operate feed truck/ pay loader. Clean pens. Maintain fence. Manure hauling. May haul cattle to market. Maintain administrative records & other related Farmworker Livestock activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate. See attached Addendum C.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Depending on housing location, worker may have a kitchen available for use. In that case, The employer will furnish cooking facilities, utilities, and utensils for workers to prepare their own meals in the housing provided kitchen. Included basic appliances will consist of, but is not limited to, refrigerator, stove/oven, and sink with hot and cold-water connections. All appliances included will be in good, working condition for the workers. Employer will provide transportation to grocery store at least once a week for workers who wish to shop for food. Otherwise, 3 meals per day will be provided to those workers who do not have access to free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities (all workers who are residing in public accommodations).

Transport: The employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to H-2A or U.S. workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved in traveling (a) to the place of employment from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer (i.e., inbound) and (b) from the pl...
