Job description

We need seasonal help while our barns are occupied with layers. Workers will perform dry and wet cleaning and

maintenance duties to prepare laying houses for pullets, to clean empty houses after layers are retired. Remove

mortality as needed.

The dry-cleaning duties include using backpack blowers to blow down henhouses, sweep floors, clean lights and

other miscellaneous cleaning and light repair duties. Wet cleaning includes pressure washing and spraying wet

disinfectant to thoroughly clean henhouses. This job includes holding a pressure washing nozzle outstretched

from your body for a number of hours in a very humid environment. Maintenance & Packing Packing/palletizing

eggs, loading/unloading trucks, and cleaning packing room. Removal of birds, cleaning. Litter

Management - Maintain or remove litter (animal waste) from aisles in our organic barns on a daily basis during the

fall/winter/spring season. Repair and maintenence of farm equipment. Must be physically able to lift up to 75 lbs on a

consistent basis throughout the day.

Workers must refrain from the use of cell phones while working in the field. Workers may not use cell phones for

personal calls, emails, or texts during working times. Phone use must be limited to break times and lunch breaks.

A minimum of three months verifiable experience necessary in the aforementioned.

Employer reserves the right to pay more than AEWR rate based on experience and length of employment

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer does not provide meals. Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dishwashing facilities for meal preparation. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, employer also provides free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services)

Transport: For inbound and outbound transportation, the employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to groups of H-2A or U.S. workers or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved.
